I get enough of the literary classic turned cheesy mini-series. My sad little 13" TV (with built-in VCR!) isn't really worth the investment in cable, but fortunately Rob has both a Tivo and a TV that can be viewed by the human eye. Thus I've coerced him into recording Masterpiece Theatre for me every week. He hates it and calls it Monsterpiece Theatre; I think he's a cultural degenerate.
Masterpiece Theatre is doing a run of Jane Austen mini-series, which means every film version of her books ever created since 1990. It's hit-or-miss on these, but I thought the
2008 version of Sense and Sensibility was pretty decent. It can't really hold a candle to
Ang Lee's version in 1995, but it
was much longer and more in depth.
