I think this room is pretty near perfect. I love living spaces that revolve around fireplaces instead of TVs. It makes me want to curl up and read a book for several hours.

The Footprint Chronicles

The Royal Order worked with Patagonia to create The Footprint Chronicles, which charts the environmental impact of a rotation of featured clothing from design to delivery. This is all in effort to become more sustainable as a business. Ultimately, Patagonia's clothing will be fully recyclable by 2010.

The project is nominated for a Webby Award in Corporate Communications. Vote!

Things I can't afford

This mat is constructed out of recycled leather belts by Ting, a small company invested in making fashion and home goods from salvaged materials like belts, ties, seat belts. Pretty cool, but also pretty expensive.

Craft o' the Day

I subscribe to Martha Stewart Craft of the Day email list. This way I can get awesome craft ideas that I'm never going to do... unless it's near a holiday, in which case I'll probably subject my girlfriends to the result in the form of a gift.

One of my many New Year's resolutions is to cut down on the number of plastic bags I take, especially in this day-and-age of double-bagging a loaf of bread that is already in its own bag. I thought the Green Tee from today's email was pretty cute and not plastic.


The only change I would make is to swap in an "I Star Chi." tshirt created by Naz Hamid and Andrew Huff, because Milton Glaser forgot the Midwest.
